Malaysia:MARIM Conference 2018 to address theme of innovative risk management

The Malaysian Association of Risk and Insurance Management's (MARIM) 2018 conference, which will take place from 17-18 July 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, will address the theme of innovative risk management.

The two-day conference will be opened by Bank Negara Malaysia deputy governor Puan Jessica Chew and will see Ministry of Finance High Level Finance Committee and Securities Commission Capital Market Advisory Council member YB Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mega Najmuddin bin Datuk Seri Dr. HJ Megat Khas deliver the keynote address on innovation, disruption and corporate governance on Day 1.

Day 2’s opening presentation will be on effective governance and risk management: building sustainability and integrity, by Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia Integrity and Risk Management Department director Siti Rosnah Md Hashim.

Conference sessions will discuss risk mitigation lessons from the Grenfell Tower and EPF building fires, fraud and corruption risk management, digitisation and cyber insurance. Besides major insurance industry players like FM Global, Aon and AIG, speakers include those from non-insurance players, such as Ayala Corporation, EY Malaysia, Air Asia and Lazada Group.

The conference will also feature an exhibition area that showcases the latest on risk management and insurance services and tools, and honour the Risk Management Team of the Year awardees during the gala lunch on Day 2.

The MARIM Conference 2018 is supported by Asia Insurance Review, the Pan-Asia Risk and Insurance Management Association (PARIMA), the Malaysian Insurance and Takaful Brokers Association (MITBA) and Labuan IBFC.
